Brainwaves is eclectic alternative radio - two hours of great music spanning five decades of rock and roll. You'll hear everything from the 70's all the way to the latest melodic indie, with a healthy dose of punk, progressive, new wave, dream pop, synth pop, slowcore, country folk, electronica, art rock and grunge thrown into the mix.
Brainwaves is broadcast from Jerusalem, so you'll hear some cool Israeli rock as well.
I wanted to be a DJ ever since I was 7 years old growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, my parents bought me a cassette tape recorder. I started talking over the songs I heard on the radio in my best 70s Top 40 Boss Jock voice.
It wasn't until my college days in 1980 that my dream was fully realized when Brainwaves was born, back then it was a New Wave program.
Brainwaves was put on the back burner until 2011 while I built a career, first as a hi-tech entrepreneur and more recently as a freelance journalist and editor. My writing can be found all over the Internet, including The Jerusalem Post, Israel21c, the AIM Group, and my blog - This Normal Life, which has appeared weekly since 2002.
I live in Jerusalem with my wife and three children.
